Passenger Side Door Lock Wont Work

Luckily this is the easiest and cheapest items that can go wrong.

Passenger side door lock wont work. The windows work off the passenger side switch but not the drivers side or vice versa. If the driver door lock switch doesn t work try the passenger door lock switch or any other door. The door lock works in only one direction. In most cases the problem with a door lock actuator is limited to only one door.

I already disconnected the driver and passenger side door lock switches and when disconnected the back doors still locked and unlocked by themselves. Again if one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be with the door lock solenoid. The solenoid is bad. I checked all fuses even 68 relay but still could not find problem i drove 18 miles in 30 degree weather at nite got home and was very confused with this truck.

If one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be a blown fuse. If one set of switches can control the windows it s likely the switch on the opposing side that needs to be replaced. When we replaced the battery the door locks started unlocking and locking by themselves with the key in the ignition and without the key in the ignition. The driver side window was stuck down and all door locks would not work all the other windows went up and down as they should but still no drivers window or door locks.

This is a cheap and easy fix. Locks work from the switch but not the remote. Sometimes something as simple as the actual door lock switch can fail and not operate. Here is a link to a forum with pictures and detailed steps for an older model toyota camry.

A fuse is blown. In some vehicles the cable that connects the door lock actuator to the inner door handle may be built into the actuator assembly. Re install the door panel using the reverse steps. If your key fob remote lock unlock doesn t work but the locks work on the door you need a new battery.

The battery died and had to be replaced. Replacing it may require removing the car door panel. If they work then you ve narrowed down your problem. In some cars a failed door lock actuator may lock but won t unlock or the other way around.
