Normal pole barn doors. When a big door isn t big enough you may need to start looking at hydraulic doors as the best option for your pole barn. For example using this rule you could place three 12 foot wide doors on a 44 foot wall. Stellar recommends a minimum of 14 x 14 for the door and a barn at least 40 x 60 x 16 for just trailer storage. If your pole barn door is for a warehouse where you are storing machinery with no special temperature concerns a simple sliding pole barn door will probably be sufficient.

Sliding doors are available in many sizes and can be solid or split into two sections. For overhead garage doors a general rule of thumb is to maintain a minimum of 2 feet between doors as well as from any building corner. If your pole barn door is for securing animals a sliding door may also be best but you will probably want to insulate it to keep heat in during cold weather. Typical agricultural pole barn kits have one or two sliding doors most commonly placed on the gable ends of the building although they can be located on the eave walls as well.
